AirPro Fan & Blower Company is one of only a few fan manufacturers that offer sanitary fan design & construction for food/dairy applications. There are 2 general levels of sanitary construction typically required. These are “Product Contact” and “Non-Product Contact”. Both usually utilize a stainless-steel airstream and require easily cleanable designs that inhibit the ability for bacteria growth. This means easy access to the airstream, no pits/crevices/cracks, and designing all components such that they will easily drain after cleaning. “Product Contact” fans are the more stringent of the 2 designs and require an airstream with all welds ground flush and a 32 Ra (or better) surface roughness. Some additional considerations are FDA approved gaskets, food-grade lubricants, and CIP fittings (among others)
